Calling “ALL” Fisherman!
By: Clam Pro Staff member, Raymond Tiffany of the Hard Water Maniacs!
I am often approached by people who are, have family members or friends, or know of someone with a disability or handicap that are, or were at some point, outdoors persons. While having a few friends and family members myself who are retired vets or had a number of back surgeries leaving a lot of physical tasks difficult or impossible, I have had to hear the heartbreaking news on a number of occasions that ice fishing is too hard for them to continue enjoying and they are selling all of their gear.
Clam Outdoors has brand new line of shelters out to help solve some of the issues that some may have with disabilities in order to keep you doing what you love to do! The new Twin Hub 1 and Twin Hub 2 portable ice shelters are a new revolution in light weight, strong, manageable, and inexpensive ice shelters offered by Clam Outdoors. At weights of 13 and 15 pounds, they weigh in at just over a gallon of milk. The twin hub design makes them extremely easy to set up with very little effort and the two end doors open up full on both ends, making entry and exit difficulties for those with disabilities and even wheel chairs a thing of the past.
Speaking with a friend of mine, Lance, from Adams, Wisconsin, he stated he is very excited about the new hub style shelters. Being a disabled army veteran, Lance has difficulty with maneuvering through the pie shaped door on most other hub style blinds. Being on a fixed income, flip over shelters that offer the quality and durability that he needs in order to stay comfortable are out of his price range. “These shelters are an awesome innovation!”, says Lance. “Finally someone is thinking outside the box enough to realize simplicity and quality can actually go hand in hand.”
We are proud to work with a company such as Clam Outdoors and gladly endorse products that not only bring people into the world of ice fishing, but also products that “keep” people in the world of ice fishing. Thanks to Clam Outdoors and the new Hub 1 and Hub 2 portable shelters, peoples with handicaps or disabilities will always know that Clam’s products will help them stay on the ice and fishing.
